Ingredients
Serves 2
Char Siu Marinade:
1/2 Cup Sugar
1 Star Anise
1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
1 tsp Ground White Pepper
1/2 tsp Salt
1/4 Cup Chinese Rice Wine or Dry Vermouth
1 Tbs Dark Soy Sauce
1 Tbs Soy Sauce, like Kikkoman
1Tbs Tomato Paste
Pork Chops:
2 Center-Cut Pork Chops (12 OZ )
Cooking Instructions
Bring all of the Marinade ingredients to a simmer and stir periodically until all of the Sugar has melted. Let simmer about 10 minutes, so that all of the spices have infused together. Cool completely before pouring ½ over the pork chops. Marinate overnight or at least 8-10 hours. Use the remaining half to baste while the Pork Chops are cooking.
Grill until about medium about 10-12 minutes.
