1 cup rolled oats; pulsed in food processor
½ cup light brown sugar; packed
1 ½ sticks unsalted butter; chilled
1 cup sliced almonds
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon salt
Filling
5 cups sliced granny smith apples; ¼-inch thick
1 ½ tablespoons fresh lemon juice
2 Tablespoons sugar
½ teaspoon vanilla
¼ teaspoon cinnamon
¼ teaspoon nutmeg

Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In a medium bowl combine all ingredients but butter. Using fingers, mix in butter. Form into small balls/chunks.
- For the filling, combine all the ingredients but the apples. Toss apples in spiced liquid.
- Layer apples into a 13 x 9 buttered glass baking dish. Top with almond oatmeal crisp.
- Bake for 45 minutes to an hour until apples are tender and top is brown and crispy. Remove from oven and let set about 10 minutes before serving.
- Serve with ice cream.
